My first base in my USAF career So many memories but the most friendliest people in the USA was there in all the small towns nearby I just remember as I drove thru the gates you could see the giant B52 fly over me and see the pilots and the reddish glow in the cockpits .Loved it but not the snow .1984 thru 1986 Sgt Mark Yates
410th SPS 72-75 sad to see SAC gone and KI Sawyer closed.

GEHLKER) you may not remember me but I was with alan robillard when he picked you up from Marquette air port in his 52 chevy it was about 10 below! and his heater was broken! also you were asking about the bar in ish. there were 2 brothers that owned it, the bar tender and the chief of police ,thats how it stayed open…I still live in so cal 661 822 5733…
may 66 to mar 70 410 ces plumber , kept things working hot water ect. repaired frozen pipes, enjoyed my time there…
